The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacoepidemiology is ISO9001: 2008 certified and is concerned with questions of drug use and safety (especially drug interactions), which in basics-oriented projects, GCP-compliant subjects and patient studies, and in pharmacoepidemiological and computer-based projects are investigated. In the context of translational multidisciplinary research network First-in-Man (FIM), in cooperation with highly specialized partners of the Medical Faculty, many Phase I / II studies (including initial applications in patients with cancer or immunological diseases carried out).
 
Among the tasks of the jobholder designer include conception, planning and GCP-compliant conduct of clinical trials, services for the hospital (Medicines Information Service, Consiliar) and the cooperation in the development of computerized expert systems for the promotion of medicines Therapy Safety (AiDKlinik system). Furthermore, the implementation of analytical-chemical and molecular biological and biochemical projects in the department laboratories is possible. The cooperation in teaching is a condition, the possibility of Habilitation exists.
