The positions are available from October 1st, 2010 and are initially limited to 2-3 years, but may be extended upon successful evaluation. In principle, these positions can be divided into two half-time positions.
The research investigates the regulation and underlying biochemical mechanisms of inflammatory diseases of the intestine, liver and lung. In particular, they are interested in the impact of apoptotic cell death and extra-adrenal glucocorticoid synthesis on the activation of immune cells and associated tissue destruction (Noti, J. Exp. Med. 2010; Mueller, J. Exp. Med. 2006; Corazza, J. Clin. Invest. 2006; Kassahn, Cell Death Diff. 2009).
Highly motivated candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and should ideally have several years of experience in either conducting and analysis of inflammatory disease models or other immunological models in mice, or extensive experience in molecular biology and cell biology, preferentially apoptosis or nuclear receptor signaling.
Applications (including CV, publication list, description of research experience and 2 letters of references) should be sent including the reference no. 2010 / 084 until June 30th, 2010.
