Robarts Research Institute is located in London at the University of Western Ontario and is affiliated with the London Health Sciences Centre.

This medical research centre is involved in the research of debilitating diseases, cardiovascular, diabetes, Alzheimer and cancer. It belongs to one of the top medical organisations in Canada in the field of clinical, medical imaging and biological research.

Robarts is an excellent destination to transform your concepts into innovations. In case that you hold a PhD in a life science subject and have the commitment and skills needed to be part of a top scientific group then this institute is certainly the right place for your research career.

The second medical research centre is the St. Boniface Hospital, which is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is linked to the Sakharov MRI Centre and the I.H. Asper Clinical Research Institute, and affiliated with the

University of Manitoba.

There are specific structural joint programs for postdoctoral scientists between the University of Manitoba and the University of British Columbia. These programs are focused on cardiovascular and respiratory research and training.

The institute is constantly looking for graduate and postdoc scientists for a number of projects.

The third research centre is a global life science centre that undertakes genomic and bioinformatics research. It is called Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre and is situated in Vancouver, BC.

Its goal is to advance in cancer research and enlighten the positive aspects of genomic research for the society. Some of their research programs are managed by the BC Cancer Research Centre. Their scientific staff worked on many international major sequencing assignments such as the genome analysis of the avian flu and collaborated in the Mammalian Gene assortment.

The emphasis of the hub is to create modern methods to systemize the sequencing procedure by using state-of-art processing facilities. As such, it is always looking for bioinformatician, biologists or computer scientists.

Another research institute is the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR),which is involved in diagnosis and treatment of cancers and is based in Toronto, Ontario.

OICR activities are centred around clinical imaging, medical trials, stem cells and tumour therapy. It is a global leader in bioinformatics and genomics.

Presently, a number of opportunities are available for talented researchers to work on the mechanism of drug resistance, mutations in the PI3K/Akt pathway and evaluation of molecular pathology approaches.

In order to clarify and enlighten the mechanisms of cancer and facilitate the process of new inventions, the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) was established in the middle of the University of Montreal.

The goals of the centre are to bring about changes, which will have an affect on cancer treatment and to train new scientists for the future.

It has about 26 research groups with approximately 200 scientists from all over the world. Under the supervision of senior scientists, PhD and Postdoctoral fellows will have the goal to advance in the field of immunology and cancer.

Scientists are expected to travel to international conferences and interact with fellow researchers.

In respect to the research topics most of the scientists are working on biological models that include yeast, mice, C. elegans, Drosophila, and humans.

In order to maintain the level of excellence, (IRIC) is currently looking for Professors, Postdocs and Researchers for all their scientific platforms.
